The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) it is the oficial Auxiliary of the United States Air Force. Founded in the 1930s by pilots with a desire to help defend the nation by putting their skills in its service. The CAP was founded one week before tha Japanese attack to Pearl Habor, HI. After the war President Thrumann declare the CAPa benevolent, nonprofit organization and Congress permanently establish it as auxiliary of the newly formed Air Force. With its three missions, Cadet Program, Aerospace Education and Emergency Services, the CAP it's been helping America ever since. To join the CAP first you have to find a squadron, visit a meeting and fill an application. The fee is $35 for cadets (18 years old and below) and $60 for senior (19 years old and above).
I decided to feature the CAP because it is an organization with an indisputed record of helping the community. Whenever a pilot is down in the mountains, a kid lost in the woods or a natural desaster hit a state the CAP is there to help. It also a great tool to keep kids out off the streets, drugs or dropping out of school. The CAP also creates a great background and knowledge to those interested in continuing a military career. Pesonally it help me to become the man I am now.
